15 practical uses of baking soda
The white fine powder known as baking soda is not only used for baking delicious pastries. It is also a highly beneficial ingredient for beauty treatments, for cleaning the household and dealing with certain unpleasant situations.
Here are more uses of baking soda:
1. Clean hair
Baking soda can help you remove the accumulated remains of hair products such as conditioners, foams or gels. Just add one teaspoon of baking soda in your shampoo. If you have a swimming pool, it is recommended to wash your hair with a solution of baking soda and water afterwards in order to remove the chlorine and restore the shine to your hair. Mix half a teaspoon of baking soda with half a liter of water and wash your hair
2. Clean combs and hairbrushes
Your combs and hairbrushes, as same as your hair, can accumulate the remains of hair products. You can easily remove the hair spray and natural scalp oils from the hairbrush if you soak it in a solution of warm water and 2 teaspoons of baking soda.
3. Hands without the sharp odor
Rub your hands with a mixture of 3 spoons of baking soda and one spoon of liquid soap in order to remove the smell of fish, garlic or onion of them.
4. Refresh your breath
Dissolve one spoon of baking soda in a glass of water. Take one sip and slurp, and then spit the solution. The odor in your mouth will be neutralized.
5. Soft skin on the elbows and knees
The skin on the elbows and knees can often be unpleasant and rough to touch. Make a paste of some baking soda and water and rub these areas of your body. You will notice the difference immediately.

Put some baking soda on an old toothbrush and brush your finger and toes nails with it. It will soften the cuticles, clean and whiten the nails which often turn yellow from the use of nail polish in strong colors.

Add some baking soda on the toothpaste and brush your teeth. Baking soda is considered to be a natural teeth whitener.
