We all know that nature gives us beautiful ingredients that have beneficial impact on our health. It is never enough of good news about the positive health implications of cocoa. The latest good news suggest that daily consumption of 40 grams of cocoa with milk improves cholesterol levels.
Researchers in Spain while working on a study on nutritional value of cocoa concluded that with intake of 40 grams of cocoa powder daily in an approximately two cups of low-fat milk, stabilizes and improves cholesterol levels and have many other positive characteristics.
Although it is relatively small study (only 42 subjects with an average age of 70 years) which lasted a relatively short time (two times, four weeks), but the researchers found that when respondents were given low-fat milk with cocoa instead of usual milk, it was noted an increase of 5 percent in the good HDL cholesterol, and a simultaneous drop in bad LDL cholesterol by 14 percent.
If you want to examine the claims of Spanish scientists, then repeat the experiment and see what you feel (if you suffer from any chronic illness must consult your personal physician).
The required daily amount of cocoa (40 grams) is approximately 3 tablespoons.
