Former champion Jon Jones has returned to the thirteenth straight victory at the spectacular UFC 197! After more than a year off, after five rounds against Ovince Saint Preux, he won the interim light heavyweight champion belt. We did not saw a lot of action, but is enough to say that all five rounds went to Jones, where OSP did not went for all or nothing even when he knew that he needed interruption to get a win. He was restrained.
Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson once again defended his belt by winning by TKO against Henry Cejudo. Another “toughest test in his career,” Demetrious Johnson has easily solved, and Henry Cejudo was finished with a mid-first-round knockout. When they were in clinch, Johnson first hits him with a knee to the body, and when Cejudo has lowered his head, and then gets hit in the heat. On the floor, he hit him with a few more shots before it was the judge stopped them. Demetrious Johnson has almost literally cleaned his division.
Anthony Pettis was again unrecognizable, although it was expected that Edson Barboza is the right opponent for him. It was believed that Pettis has enough technique to overcome the Brazilian fighter, but in fact it was quite the opposite.
